CITY OF LAKES

Udaipur, better known as The City Of Lakes or Venice of The East is one of the most romantic cities located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was the historic capital of the former kingdom of Mewar, ruled by Ranawats of the Sisodia clan. The city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 A.D. Udaipur is surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains and set on the edge of three lakes. The famous lakes of the city are The Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar.
